Aurivo suspends marts for safety assessments after man in his seventies attacked by bull

Aurivo has shut its livestock marts in Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim following an accident in which a man in his 70s was attacked by a bull in Mohill.

The accident at the Co. Leitrim mart is being investigated by the Health and Safety Authority.

It’s understood the injured man is in a serious condition at Sligo University Hospital to which was airlifted following the accident on Saturday.

Aurivo announced that it had decided to close its four marts for this  week to facilitate a review of procedures.

In another incident a man in his 60s was killed when he was attacked by a recently calved cow on his farm near Moylough, Co. Galway, on Sunday.
