Sligo has been allocated €651,000 of a national €34 million fund for maintenance of the county’s roadworks.
Local Fine Gael TD, Tony McLoughlin said that “since the economic collapse, there has been underinvestment in roads and public transport.”
Nationally, he said, €60 million will go towards public transport and €4.2 to tourism related projects, including further development of Ireland’s Ancient East corridor and the Wild Atlantic Way.
