BaxterConcerns have been voiced over job losses at a Castlebar-based pharmaceutical multi-national.

It’s believed the employment of 120 temporary and fixed contract workers at the plant has been terminated in recent weeks.

However, a Union representative said at the weekend that while it had been hoped the jobs would be maintained the workers
were engaged on the understanding the positions were of a temporary nature, to carry out extra work which the west Mayo
operation had been called on to handle.
